SCHOOLS DIVISION OFFICE OF CAVITE PROVINCE
TANZA NATIONAL COMPREHENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL

History
TNCHS came into existence on November 5, 1949 and started to cater its services although classes were held in a rented building with rooms far below standard set forth by the bureau. This situation was resolved when Tanza High School became the lucky recipient of one hundred thousand pesos (P100,000.00) pork barrel allocation of the Honorable Justiniano S. Montano.
From this amount, a school site of 40,000 square meters was acquired and two story main building of eight rooms and standard home economics building were constructed. Tanza High School was transferred to this site on October 27, 1952.
The population began to grow and more buildings were constructed and during its early years of operation. Tanza High School offered a curriculum which was basically academic. A few years, in response to the needs of the community and the society's educational reforms, the curriculum was changed to RSEP' 73. With this academic and vocational subjects were given equal weight and importance and at that time Tanza High School which formerly subsisted on its income from the tuition fees plus the aid from our Municipal government was transferred to Tanza National Comprehensive High School.
Being comprehensive the curriculum was with the addition of specialized courses both in elective and in the academic, and being a national high school its subsistence is now provided by the National Fund.
Not long after the EDsa revolution in 1986, the framework of Philippine Education took another face in 1989-1990 the National Secondary Curriculum (NSEC) started its first year and after four (4)years, it was fully implemented. It was at this time that enrichment subjects like journalism and drawing were offered as optional subject.
The school strives hard to enrich the curriculum so that the students can respond productively to the abrupt changes in different aspects of life. More efforts and emphasis are devoted to both academic and vocational courses to prepare the students for productive life and for higher education.
